The Dash Media Paradox

Dash Media was started by Mikey Villar to map out quality content during a time wherein decent output from bloggers seem to be rare with all the blinking icons and retarded text speak that has permeated all through cyberspace. With the aim to improve the sense of community and give a chance to people who decent content to be exposed to a wider audience, the network conducted a subjective yet rigorous selection process that saw an initial list of over a hundred blogs get whittled to a low number of 22 - still three blogs short of their projected 25 pioneer bloggers.
The network doesn’t boast to be home of the best blogs in the internet, but it does offer one guarantee - all the blogs in the network feature quality content in varied fields of interest. It’s still sketchy at this point, but clearly, members of the network wouldn’t have been able to find each other’s blogs without the help of the Mikey V. and Co. With that, the goal of community is realized.
The second objective seems to be harder to achieve at this point. As unpopular and underappreciated as some blogs are, it doesn’t change the fact that Dash Media is the new gun in this setup. Some blogs in the network could even be more popular than Dash Media. So here comes the question:
How can a start-up site like Dash Media possibly bolster the readership of the members included in the network? Understandably, mutual admiration may and has already happened as of now, but is there something to look forward to after that?
Just like every other entity that starts out, it has to build it’s credibility and integrity to be recognized as a qualified body to weed out and promote blogs to a certain level. At this point, Dash Media has no cred. It’s credibility is tied to the bloggers that it chose to carry it in its first precarious months as a bloggers’ network.
At the end of the day, each of the pioneer bloggers should realize that there is immense pressure on all of us to prop up Dash Media to a prestigious organization. Our performance will be the barometer whether this network will gain the respect of the blogging community. Let’s share the vision with the founders and spread the message through quality content and better coordination.
We are at the forefront of something that could potentially be special. Let’s give it our best shot.

Well, when 9Rules (after w/c Dash Media is clearly patterned after) started out, they weren’t exactly popular as well.

[...] Acting like the network news aggregator, couple of networked blogs already had their say. Check out the buzz here, here, here and here. [...]
I learned something new just now.
