Entries Related To Atheism
AJ and Tess both felt that my comment, would have merited it’s own post due to its relatively extensive and kilometric nature. Instead of deriving a whole new post out of that, I’ll just provide a series of links to the Atheism-related posts that I’ve made over the year. Please be reminded that some of them might take a more than militant and aggressive stance against the christian establishment.
Right In Two
7 May 2006
This post deals with the obsession of people towards distinguishing white from black and good from bad for the sake of dichotomy. A vast majority of people seem to be very driven to alienate those who share a divergent view.
Right in Two [Part II: Thank your god]
16 May 2006
This is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Again, be warned. This post is VERY controversial.;)
Right in Two [Part III: Atheism, dekonstrukted]
19 May 2006
It’s hard for some people to grasp the concept of atheism, but in this article, I tried my hardest to verbalize why I think I am unable to believe in a greater being.
and for comic effect, let’s throw this one in as well…
Satanism

This is hilarious.

Yey! I saw your blog.
*points at the PA banner you are using*
I’m so ashamed of myself. I will make a better suited web banner. I promise!
i respect your standpoint dude.
i’m pretty sure (even without reading most of the comments here) that a lot of people are dissing you.
Bilib ako sa yo at isinusulong mo ang iyong paniniwala dito sa relihiyoso nating bansa.
I can’t believe I read all those entries and comments. Engrossing pieces, Benj. I agree with almost everything. But I don’t call myself anything, and I’m not about to argue with anybody else’s beliefs.
I’m comfortable with what the others believe in just as long as they don’t force it on me.
Just for the record (perhaps to explain why I’m not an extremist of any sort), I used to be a devout Catholic. I was brought up to be that way. But hey, my parents never asked me if I wanted to be a Catholic. :p And as I grew up, I began to question my own religion & the bible. Everything else went downhill from there.
Kaso, it has long ago ceased to be an issue of religion or the existence of God for me - it has become an issue of those people who are overzealous and quick to judge because not everyone share the same beliefs with them. They’re very prone to giving into religious hypocrisy. Nakakapagod makipagtalastasan - puro bibliya nila ang batayan. o_O Sometimes I think that having a religion is convenient for people para may masisi sila.
I love Right in Two Part II. Hit the nail some more!
tatlong beses ka ng hinihuli ng Akismet ko. Ano bang meron sa computer mo at ayaw kang palusutin ng spam filter ko? hehe
Thanks for reading Shari.
Nah, I don’t think I get dissed for being an atheist that much. I get more support, I think. It’s great to read comments from people who agree with your stand (in the “that’s what I’ve been always thinking” sort of way).
Thanks for your support.
Wow I can’t believe we have a real Atheist here in the Philippines???
Am the one from artworks.blogspot.com just tranfered from blogspot to WP…
*sigh* i really can’t believe
^ most narrow-minded Filipinos can’t believe it. They’re too busy stereotyping what a Filipino is in their Utopian world.
Please think long and hard before making a comment like that. Thanks. It might be well-meaning, but the double-edge makes it a lightning rod.
No I was really nagulat lang, hindi lang ako makapaniwala…Sorry if my comment sound offensive I didn’t mean anything bad.
Nagyon lang kasi ako nakakilala ng Filipino na Atheist, sounds new to me kala ko sa foreign country lang meron.
Sorry ulit ;P
no problem. See you at the blog awards. :p
i spent my college life in UP, dun ako unang namulat sa atheism and with a formal and authorized org at that.
for me, as long as walang sakitan at gaguhan, mamumuhay tayong lahat ng mapayapa.
That’s nice to know AJ. I’m studying at UP right now but my campus doesn’t have an Atheist organization. Even if we had one, I don’t know if I’d want to join. I think Atheism gives a certain degree of philosophical autonomy and congregating might be defeating that end.
