Are these three faces familiar? There’s a big chance that you’ve never seen them or even heard about prior to reading this blog, but if you’re someone who still has a half-filled sample ballot with a little over two months to go, you may want to consider the viability non-mainstream candidates. Sure, they may not necessarily win a slot come May 14 due to their inability to hemorrhage money to air television political ads, but these people have a lot to say. The superimposed T (meant to look like a crucifix doesn’t look too good to me).
These guys could be the real deal, but if the campaign is being ran ala delusional messiah like the only presidential candidate worse than Eddie Gil – E-Villanueva, it would definitely cultivate a lot skepticism and doubt – even from the religious folk.
If the idea of having political ‘outsiders’ taking their place in the government to fix the system appeals to you, these three guys may be your best bet.
Ang Kapatiran, or the Alliance of the Common Good is a national political party founded on the ideology of the common good based on 10 ethical principles:
- Belief in God
- Respect for life and human dignity
- Strengthening of the family
- Community participation
- Basic rights and responsibilities
- Preferential option for the poor and the vulnerable
- Dignity of work and rights of workers
- Care for nature as God’s creation
- Peace and active nonviolence
- Solidarity
and commitment to the common good.
Oh shucks, forget it.
No, I’m not campaigning for them. I’m just posting about them to make you guys aware of them.

Hahaha. Benj, you got me there. =)
I'm bent on voting for Martin Bautista. I've also called them out for their seemingly 'fundamentalist' tone. Bautista has even said that he wants to reach out to Danton Remoto and include him in their cause. Having Remoto in the party will definitely erase any semblance of fundamentalism – their right-wing neo-con supporters might not sit well with that. Adrian Sison on the other hand, sounds more and more like a zealot with each entry he makes.
Hi Benj,
I have nothing against Kapatiran but I think they are trying to build a heavenly city in the earthly city. They might be considered as an 'alternative' to the TU and GO but am afraid that religious fundamentalism will be their primary legislative goal.
I haven't heard of them speak on the conflict in Mindanao and their strategies for peace in the Muslim region.

Hi Benj,
Interesting Facts from our previous discussion on 6-5-1:
Six senatorial candidates from Team Unity (TU), five from Genuine Opposition (GO) and one independent candidate made it to the winning 12-slot senatorial lineup in the mock election conducted by the GMA Network during a trade presentation at The Fort in Taguig City on Thursday night.
The radio DZBB reported that those who participated in the mock election were representatives of various advertising companies and companies who placed their advertisement.
On the question who among the senatorial candidates they will vote for, the following candidates drew the most votes: Francis “Kiko" Pangilinan (Ind); Francis “Chiz" Escudero (GO); Manuel Villar (Ind-GO); Loren Legarda (GO); Panfilo “Ping" Lacson (GO); Joker Arroyo (TU); Ralph Recto (TU); Benigno “Noynoy" Aquino III (GO); Mike Defensor (TU); Miguel Zubiri (TU); Alan Peter Cayetano (GO); and tied in the 12th slot were Vicente “Tito" Sotto (TU) and Edgardo Angara (TU).
On the question who they think the people will vote for on election day, the result shows Pangilinan; Escudero; Villar; Legarda; Lacson; Arroyo; Recto; Defensor; Zubiri; Cayetano; Angara and Sotto.
The report did not indicate how many people participated in the mock election.-GMANews.TV

Zubiri was in the friggin' top 12?! That would make his mother really proud. haha
My predicted twelve
Opposition – Aquino, Pangilinan(*), Lacson, Legarda, Villar(*), Cayetano, Escudero
Administration – Defensor, Arroyo, Recto, Sotto,
Independent – Honasan
Something tells me I'm forgetting someone but it's easy to edit anyway. I think it will be 7-4-1 for the Opposition. Haha. That's quite a departure from my 6-5-1 (for the admin) projection.
Heck, kapag wala na talaga akong maisip na isulat sa ballot, I'll write them down. Fillers kung baga. Haha!
They will not win anyway.
Hi Benj,
Let see whether it's 7-4-1 for the opposition or it is the 6-5-1 configuration. Thanks for the 'Boom Tarat' thing that increases his name recall amidst his lousy Biofuel ad.

Hi Jhed,
Nice idea, filler talaga. For what it's worth, I might consider voting for Dr. Martin Bautista. He's damned so transparent.

I'll vote for Bautista, but definitely not Sison.
The self-proclaimed holier than thou candidates who hinge their persona in moral ascendancy just don't sit well with me. If the stupid voters will fall for Defensor's ads, that schtick will work with the crud of society who are dumber than the 'Tol ad lovers.
