If you’re currently asking yourself if you belong to the religion most in line with your sensibilities or you’re simply interested about the nuances about other systems of faith and belief, I encourage you to take this test. It will take a bit of time, but the appraisal that it will give you will be very comprehensive.
My Results:
Amazingly, Atheism/Non-theism didn’t finish on top. Here was how the religions/philosophies stacked up.
1. Secular Humanism (100%)
2. Non-theist/ Atheism (98%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (93%)
18. Islam (31%)
20. Roman Catholicism (31%)
Last No. 27. Jehova’s Witness (9%)
Notes on Secular Humanism
- Secular Humanism Belief in Deity: Not considered important. Most Humanists are atheists or agnostics.
- Incarnations: Same as above.
- Origins of universe/life: The scientific method is most respected as the means for revealing the mysteries of the origins of the universe and life.
- After death: An afterlife or spiritual existence after death is not recognized.
- Why evil? No concept of “evil.” Reasons for wrongdoing are explored through scientific methods, e.g. through study of sociology, psychology, criminology, etc.
- Salvation: No concept of afterlife or spiritual liberation or salvation. Realizing ones personal potential and working for the betterment of humanity through ethical consciousness and social works are considered paramount, but from a naturalistic rather than supernatural standpoint.
- Undeserved suffering: No spiritual reasons, but rather a matter of human vulnerability to misfortune, illness, and victimization.
- Contemporary Issues: The American Humanist Association endorses elective abortion. Other contemporary views include working for equality for homosexuals, gender equality, a secular approach to divorce and remarriage, working to end poverty, promoting peace and non-violence, and environmental protection.
So as explained in the bullet points, Secular Humanists are the atheists and agnostics who choose to play a larger role in society. Admittedly, Atheism is a bare philosophy in the sense that it doesn’t have the hierarchical structures that most religions have. Due to this, Atheism as a school of thought remains belief almost entirely on a personal level. There are no tenets to follow regarding dealing with other people and most of the time, it is through common sense where the “right” thing is derived.
Unfortunately, a lot of idiotic Christians and Catholics have used this argument to “prove” that they have the monopoly in righteousness and Atheists are vacuous as far as knowing what is bad and good. It’s next to pathetic, but to humor them, Secular Humanism is the answer to that bone-headed “argument”.
SECULAR HUMANIST BELIEFS
- I believe in nontheism, as there is no rational proof for the existence of God, and do not delude myself with thoughts of a Supreme Being.
- I believe that traditional religions and faiths preach false doctrines, are oppressive and lead their followers toward ignorance, bigotry and dogmatism, and that it is my duty to be actively skeptical of and challenge the illusions of orthodox religions and all attempts to explain the world in supernatural terms.
- I believe in the preservation and enhancement of the human species as my ultimate concern, and in the global human family, which must preserve the Earth for future generations through developing a secular, planetary morality and system of law.
- I believe that living a good, moral life is the best means for individual and collective happiness and that morality has a rational, secular basis.
- I believe in expanding human rights and intellectual and moral freedom, and in secular democracy, with strict separation of church and state, as the means of eliminating discrimination and attaining equality and justice for all.
- I believe in the development of the creative human potential through education in the arts and sciences and in the paramount importance of free inquiry in an open, pluralistic, universalist society.
- I believe in the application and development of reason and modern science as the highest means to understanding the universe, solving human problems and enabling each individual to realize his greatest potential.
- I believe in striving for fulfillment and happiness in this life and reject all notions of reincarnation and afterlife as false and baseless, seeking my fullest capacity as a human being here and now, serving others and creating a better, more just world.
- I believe in Darwin’s theory of evolution as scientific fact, and in naturalism, holding that the known world is all that exists, and that it has no supernatural or spiritual creation, control or significance.

thanks for this link. i had fun.
Syempre hindi mo sinabi yung results mo. haha
The test says that I’m 100% nontheist, but that’s not true. The only reason why the test turned out that way is because there’s no option for the Flying Spaghetti Monster, the one true creator of the universe.
You are so off! The true creator of the universe is the Pink Unicorn!!!
1. Liberal Quakers (100%)
2. Bahai (95%)
3. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (95%)
I’m a LIBERAL QUAKER. Wow, ngayon ko lang narinig to ah. It’s quite surprising actually, I agree in most of their points. (It’s God’s plan, etc.)
11. Islam (68%)
20. Roman Catholic (50%)
21. Secular Humanism (45%)
27. Non-theist (22%)
my test results are posted in my humble blog
I’m 100% Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestant daw.
#18 ang Roman Catholicism (53%) sa akin, haha! (Which is my actual religion).
I didn’t copy and paste the results because the top result was not reflective of what I believe at all. It told me that I belong to a diverse group that is tolerant of all religions, or something like that.
The second one is Theravada Buddhism, which is more close, but I just don’t believe in Karma. I think the principle of afterlife Karma is… it’s nuts.
I’m not surprised that the Christian religions were at the bottom of my list. I think most of their principles/beliefs are downright odd.
I fall under Unitarian Universalism (100 %) daw. And then Secular Humanism (99%) and Non-theist (82%). Number 27 on my list is Roman Catholicism (10%). hehe.
After I took the test I found out that I am…
1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (92%)
3. Mainline - Liberal Christian Protestants (88%)
I also saw that Unitarian Universalism is full of ‘diverse beliefs’ some even ‘very diverse beliefs’.
This is the first time I’ve heard of this but it seems to be an ambiguous religion to me.

hey Benj,
I just remembered something…
What do you think, should religion/belief follow lifestyle or should it go the other way around? The post title makes me think about this
Excellent point, Mai.

I think most people try to pattern their lifestyles around the teachings of their religion because they think that the path that their religion teaches is the RIGHT path.
