^ That was not even the point. Hahahaha. Thanks for further proving my premise.

You can't even identify the satire behind the post. Did I even say that ALL science high schools are like that? Jeez. Good luck on continuing your "high school fantasies". That's definitely a big achievement.

Howdy!

Ah the brain-- the seat of arrogance or wisdom (or both).

I find 2 common things with atheists-- they are both arrogant & angry.

The first one is more obvious with you, Benj. Though, I'm not suggesting that being arrogant is wrong or evil. It's just an observable (empirical) fact. :)

Ah, the Philippine science curriculum.

It's not much different from the english curriculum - absolutely shoddy.

Seriously, this country is in a precarious position if students from a science high school are taught such rubbish.

<p>Benj, your thoughts reflect obviously that of an Atheist and I am not suprised about it at all. I have chatted with several atheist and your ways of reasoning are very similar - focusing on trivial things like grammar, school and worst is the use of character assasination. Well, maybe it is your style but it wouldn't bring you far. You will eventually be cut-off.</p>
<p>I Corinthians 3:19 "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."</p>
<p>To have a high opinion of our own wisdom, is but to flatter ourselves; and self-flattery is the next step to self-deceit. The wisdom that wordly men esteem, is foolishness with God. How justly does he despise, and how easily can he baffle and confound it! The thoughts of the wisest men in the world, have vanity, weakness, and folly in them. All this should teach us to be humble, and make us willing to be taught of God, so as not to be led away, by pretences to human wisdom and skill, from the simple truths revealed by Christ. Mankind are very apt to oppose the design of the mercies of God. Observe the spiritual riches of a true believer; All are yours, even ministers and ordinances. Nay, the world itself is yours. Saints have as much of it as Infinite Wisdom sees fit for them, and they have it with the Divine blessing. Life is yours, that you may have a season and opportunity to prepare for the life of heaven; and death is yours, that you may go to the possession of it. It is the kind messenger to take you from sin and sorrow, and to guide you to your Father's house. Things present are yours, for your support on the road; things to come are yours, to delight you for ever at your journey's end. If we belong to Christ, and are true to him, all good belongs to us, and is sure to us. Believers are the subjects of his kingdom. He is Lord over us, we must own his dominion, and cheerfully submit to his command. God in Christ, reconciling a sinful world to himself, and pouring the riches of his grace on a reconciled world, is the sum and substance of the gospel.</p>

<font color="blue"> If you just read the post and comments, you would have seen that it's not even an atheism issue. The reasoning was clearly flawed - even christians could see that.</font>

I came from a science highschool (or should I say, *the* science high school) and I assure you that such things are not included nor inculcated there -- at least not in my school.

The material here is lifted from a widely spread Christian forwarded email.

Despite the fact that I am theist, however, I am not really amused by that particular argument.

Skye,

"I was never that philosophical when I was in high school since we were never given free reign to think about our beliefs"

So the issue is about beliefs. They had theirs and you had yours.

They had their "belief" that God exists as you had your "belief" that there is no evidence that God exists.

duh, science does not claim "people evolved from monkeys". it's supposed to be we 'shared a common ancestor'

this student should learn more about genetics and evolution before twisting it...

Just to deviate from the arguments going on and add my two cents on the post title... My school's science curriculum IS bad. We were never told about Darwin's theory. We were only presented the option to believe that God created the world. My old school is Protestant-based, but that does give them the right to withhold information from students. It's sick.

I was never that philosophical when I was in high school since we were never given free reign to think about our beliefs, but I was the "odd one" all throughout high school because I openly oppose their opinions about their god. I've told them that there is no evidence that god exists, also, are they even sure that the bible was really written by men who were commanded by god when god itself couldn't even be proven to exist? All I got was a bashing from my values education teacher. He didn't exactly answer my question.

So there you go, some of the high school science curriculum is really deteriorating.
