Thanks

It took me quite a while to come up with a title for this post so I went the simplest and the most corny I could come up with.

I would like everyone to know that I take pride in my blog. Yes, pride in the most intrinsic and egotistic sense. I’m sure you all know that by now, but in case somebody who can’t recognize a blinding flash of the obvious reads this, I might as well get that little detail out of the way. I’m very flattered that some of my posts have really driven people to think and react to what I have to say – whether positively or negatively. Unlike in other blogs where majority of the comments often point towards raves and fan-hood-ism regarding a post, I am very happy and appreciative of the fact that a majority my readers, visitors and those who leave comments enter the site with their thinking caps on, eager to share what they have to say on whatever issue I was talking about at that particular moment. Call it arrogant, but I really like the fact that I get a lot of well-thought-of replies and arguments. I would rather see a long and lengthy and well-substantiated comment from this guy (i.e. somebody who doesn’t exactly agree with me a lot) rather than approve a multitude of astig ka! and nice site! comments. Yes, I get quite a number of those from casual visitors and those comments never see the light of day.

Now that I’m moving on to things other than personal blogging, I find it real reassuring that my readership has grown considerably and people are more willing to share their two cents on the issues that I raise. As I’ve repeatedly said on this blog, I don’t consider moving towards the idea of an Atheist community as an organization as a good idea considering the differences that each Atheist would have with the next. I would rather help out in my own little way by giving more exposure to other Atheist Bloggers to make people see that Atheist stereotypes are unfounded (read the sidebar). We’re a very interesting set of people so I hope this effort succeeds – well, it’s hard to fail on this because there’s no fool-proof way of measuring success on this project. Hehe.

Two weeks into my writing gig for Froodee and Blog Tutorials, it’s real great that everything seems to be going smoothly. I didn’t expect this, but I’m actually getting comments from outside the writers’ pool! Yay! We’re a young site so most of the comments are coming from within (i.e. other writers leaving comments on other writers’ posts). I haven’t written in this format since high school so it’s great to hear when people actually find my writing of use.

So there. Thanks to everyone. I just wrote this to make you all know how much I appreciate all the time and brain power that you put into this blog.
