Utopian Chains is the latest in the series of original compositions that I’ve co-wrote for my band, Implement Project. I’m very fortunate that I’m bandmates who are excellent in their instruments and it’s also great that I can write lyrics very quickly – almost simultaneous with their eureka moments while the riffs of a song is being literally born.
The lyrics along with the title are both very tentative as of now.
Utopian Chains
-Asi, Espina, Herrera and Mata
We toe the line that divides what’s wrong and right
And as we walk along the mark we see people falling by the wayside
What has become of our predetermined rules?
Was it just a list fed for all us fools?

We weren’t there to reason.
The regulations were decided for those who didn’t dare to ask
We weren’t there to reason
They do nothing but reflect the injustices of the past
We weren’t there to reason against their irrational rules
We don’t have to concede to these repressive fools

The crimes just bleed out through the cracks of time
the flesh blood fuels the elects’ hearts and minds
There is no need to conform and be their tools
Rise up and defect, and let us all take this down
Feed the fire, strike it before it cools

What has become of our predetermined rules?
We weren’t there to reason.
We weren’t there to reason.
We all victimized ourselves with our apathy.
Our hatred went nowhere and was just lost in the shuffle.
We weren’t there to reason… then
But we’re here now
Absolution doesn’t come easy.

How refreshing! I agree, except with the last line:
For it is absolution that comes easily, it is contrition that is hard to come by.
And I heard, you raised a ruckus at the Beauty Contest of the Wart Hogs a few months back. Hehe. More power to you, atheist!
coolness.
Astig ka, pare!
