Atheist Acoustic Rock
Four years ago, I informally formed a acoustic duo with a close friend who also happens to be atheist. He’s now working in Oman and browsing over our old mp3s made me a bit nostalgic. This was a no frills project. We recorded songs as is using a tape recorder with no post-production enhancement or editing. The songs are very impassioned, raw and unadulteratedly taken from an atheist’s point of view. We wrote and recorded the songs during Saturday nights at the Shell Tabangao Refinery Taclobo Clubhouse. The sessions got so intense that many times, we were leaving the premises as late as 4 in the morning.
The first song we ever composed was called Pariah and the week after that, we decided to name our musical project with the same name - not that anyone cared. It was routine back then. My friend would bring his guitar to the clubhouse (which closes at 10 PM) and I’ll bring my tape recorder and boombox. I didn’t use pen and paper to scribble lyrics - I simply typed them on my Nokia 6800 (that flip phone with the QWERTY keyboard).
These songs were only heard by a handful of our close friends and they were downloaded and played via broadband close to three thousand times through out the course of the the past four years. It’s amazing what online whoring can do, eh? So here I am again, inviting all those with the time and the open mind to listen and experience our music. We actually have more than 20 songs but we didn’t get to record them all.

Among the songs available for download, Quiet Hill is my favorite, hands down. What started as a playful take on a Playstation Role Playing Game ended up being an eccentric first-person account from the living dead.
