Lure

It can get ugly – last year, it was so grotesque, this blog turned into a hot mess (shoutout to Project Runway 4 winner Mark Castro). The prospect of sponsored posts is very appealing to most bloggers – especially to students like myself who would more than appreciate extra income to further augment a fixed allowance. There was a time when I thought that sponsored posts could never be a good thing but I ended diving in, writing from password recall software, fireplace mantles and even vaginal repairs. The money was good and it clearly derailed the focus of this page for almost a month.

Aaron was more into it. He aggressively sought out offer after offer cashed in handsomely. He did seem to have sacrificed a lot of his blog in the process, but in the pragmatic sense, you can’t really argue much if you can earn as much as 150 USD by simply writing about products that other people are trying to sell.

Now Helga‘s getting into it. She has a strong and rabid following and if a move into payperpost territory could potentially alienate people. Good thing that there are offers in the market that could be pliable enough to sell into whatever you’re inclined to write. I’ve already written one and I think it melded well with the rest of my content so far. It’s a calculated risk, but if you’re not compromising much, I don’t think you’re losing out on anything.
