This is a scheduled post - yeah, I wanted to make sure that I did good on my promise to nominate three blogs every week until the end of the nomination period. Since I’ve nominated two personal blogs last week, I’ll definitely try to spread the love out a bit this week.

Coy dared to be different in his approach and now, he’s probably the most well-known Filipino video blogger this side of Happy Slip land. He will be surely in the shortlist of nominees and he’ll probably get more than 50 other people nominating him for this category. This one’s a no-brainer, really. It will be a well-deserved win if he indeed wins.

Category: Best Blog  - Commentary (Social, Political, Science and History)

I really want to see JJ Domingo in the short list. He’s young but he has the eloquence and the  brains to roll with the very best of ‘em. He’s broken through somehow now that he’s blogging in FilipinoVoices, but for the large part, he’s still an outsider to the nouveau off-line blog community that 2007 has created. The Nutbox is the most intellectual and thought-provoking blog that you have yet to visit. Good luck JJ!

 

Gibbs Cadiz

Speaking of shoo-ins, Gibbs Cadiz has to be one of the surest things on the ballot come July. In the Philippine Blog Community,  Gibbs’ isn’t only THE authority when it comes to the theater scene  - HE is the theater scene. He has introduced dozens of bloggers to the theater experience and has been a steadfast advocate for the arts. In fact, I’m going to call it - The Gibbs will win this award hands down.
