I'm quite sure a lot of other people are doing the same thing, mass voting for their country's candidate, so please don't take it out too much on us Filipinos. I mean isn't this why we get to vote for 7? So that we don't simply vote for ours and we get to select other deserving candidates. Oh sure some people don't vote for the "undeserving" ones as you say and vote the lower ranking ones to boost our candidates, which i admit destroys n7w, but please don't generalize.

And if, let's say I have never been out of the country, but i've hear tons about let's say…the Amazon river. Pictures on the internet left and right stand testament to its beauty.
Then…if i vote for it, would it be wrong? Because it's like your saying that about Tubbataha Reef.

And one more thing. Please be more polite. I mean, no need to insult anyone. You have your opinion. We have ours.

yun yung special sa mayon, UNLIKE fuji. kaya nga pakiramdam ko mas deserving din ang mayon kesa sa fuji. besides, porke't ba naging representative na (thus, popular) ng japan ang fuji, SPECIAL na siya? I don't think so. With much scientific background, one would conclude na mas special pa ang mayon, di lang mas sikat kesa sa fuji.

even puerto princessa's underground river is unique. at dahil WONDERS of nature naman yung hinahanap natin, mas akma nga di ba na yung mga nakamamanghang tulad nito yung manalo?

the same with tubbataha. heck, kahit hindi ako diver at hindi pa ako nakakapunta sa tubbataha, enough na yung mga scientific studies na nagsasabing pilipinas ang epicenter ng marine biodiversity para maniwala akong karapat-dapat ang tubbataha. this alone makes it more special than ausralia's great barrier reef.

at kung apat sa pitong bagong 7 wonders ang galing sa pilipinas, why not? if they deserve it, bakit mo ipagkakait? kailangan ba may isa lang? after all, Philippines has long been recognized as "gifted" when it come to natural resources, so bakit hindi?

sa tingin ko dapat tinitingnan yung voting not as a competition kasi, agree, mali nga naman na paglabann ang isang bulkan at isang diving sita at isang kagubatan, dahil duh mauuwi ka talaga sa popularity contest. siguro look at N7W as a way para marecognize yung ganda ng isang lugar. if it's in the list, then it's something worth seeing kahit hindi pa siya makaabot sa top 10.

how do you choose which one of those FOUR to represent the country?

Of the four Philippine sites nominated, Is there anything questionable with their qualifications as the planet's top natural wonders? If the country does end up with four sites in the final 7 then so be it.

If like Rio, foreigners would balk at the idea of our Tubataha beating Australia's Great Barrier Reef, I ask Why not? If judgements were to be made based on empirical measurements then I think the whole voting should be dropped and then just get people who can measure sites up then rank them. But that's not the case.

Pride gone wrong? Not this time.
