I would like to think that I have been one of the most ardent defenders supporters of this project. New bloggers deserve all the boost especially if they can back up the hype with quality. Winners in this project has been a mixed bag of success stories (Coy Caballes and Gibbs Cadiz) and also-rans like… and…
I believe that this year’s vote will be the most controversial yet since there is no clear front runner. Most people would once again disregard this year’s contest as a sham due to the lack of star power. But just the same, I would maintain that this writing contest is the one thing that makes it easy for the really qualified writers and content providers to gain quick recognition. It is also a good way to make laughing stock out of oneself if you can’t sustain the momentum.

1. Filipino Freethinkers - this is an initiative that I am most proud of. Through this blog and mailing list, we have mobilized free thinkers of different philosophies to attend almost a dozen events. We even had a relatively big event back in February with an attendance of almost 80 people. I will boldly predict that this site will be number one at the end of the vote.
2. Alps Aguado – I wont be surprised if he gets a PBA nod as well for his new site. He’s a great writer and I think he’s one of the best personal bloggers around.

Yea, I think Alps' blog won't qualify but if it does, I will prolly put it on my list too.
I certainly agree with Jan because I find a lot of nominees with good potential to be on top. So, I would suggest you to read them first and you might see the 'star quality' that you are looking for. =)
