ATHEISTA.net is owned and solely managed by a 21 year-old student at the UP College of Medicine. He was arbitrarily given the name Benjamin when he was born on the third day of the fourth month. Due to the laziness of today’s youth, the name Benjamin became truncated to Benj.
Benj started creating websites back in 2000. Unfortunately, the whole blogging craze wasn’t that big back then and all he was up to was writing music reviews for the albums he liked.
In 2004, Benj assumed the persona of lateralus in Tabulas. The blog was updated about once a week and had a small-to-moderate readership. Topics ranged from the author’s debating career, med school life, band gigs, new compositions and angst-laden rants against the religious establishment. The author went to hiatus midway into 2005.
March of 2006, Benj resumed blogging under the same username at Wordpress. The blog was a free-willing compilation of writings on music, politics, atheism, medicine and travel. Two months short of celebrating his first year in Wordpress, Benj decided to leave and transfer to MyJournal.
The weeks on MyJournal was a blur. Before most of the people in his blog roll could up date his link, Benj moved from Myjournal to his own domain – Atheista.net — less than three weeks after leaving his original Wordpress host.
